About Beth Fortune

Interior Architecture–Led Design for Homes That Are Meant to Be Lived In—and Spaces That Need to Perform

I’m Beth Fortune, an interior designer based in Los Angeles and the founder of Wildheart Design Collective. I help homeowners and property owners solve real design problems—spaces that look fine on paper but don’t quite function, flow, or feel right in real life.

My work is rooted in interior architecture, not just decorating. I focus first on how a space is structured and used—layout, circulation, scale, and proportion—so every design decision that follows is clearer, more intentional, and more effective.

Whether I’m working on a primary residence, a second home, or a high-performing rental property, the goal is the same: thoughtful, well-resolved interiors that feel finished, functional, and enduring.

My passion is helping hosts create spaces that perform—beautiful, bookable interiors that feel as memorable as a boutique hotel, but practical enough to handle the realities of busy rental life.

From Hospitality Design to Residential Spaces

My career began in marketing and advertising, followed by years working as a photo and film stylist—an early education in composition, storytelling, and how spaces are experienced through the lens. But it was remodeling my first vacation rental that reshaped my approach to design entirely.

That experience led me to earn a Master’s degree in Interior Architecture and to work at Hirsch-Bedner Associates, one of the world’s leading hospitality design firms. There, I contributed to large-scale hotel projects and learned how high-performing spaces are planned, executed, and refined—down to the details that guests feel even if they can’t name them.

Today, I bring that same rigor to smaller-scale projects, helping private clients apply hospitality-level thinking to homes and properties that need to work beautifully in everyday life.

How I Work

I don’t start with shopping lists or trends. I start by solving the space.

My design process prioritizes:

This approach is especially valuable for clients who want expert direction without unnecessary overhauls, and for those who value clarity over endless inspiration.

I offer both virtual design services nationwide and full-service interior design in the Los Angeles area.

Designing Through Experience

I stay engaged in the design industry through continuing education and trade events, and I travel frequently—paying close attention to how spaces perform when people actually live in them.

Good design isn’t about perfection. It’s about clarity, comfort, and spaces that hold up over time.
