Biskra House is a sprawling desert ranch reimagined with guests in mind. The design nods to the home’s mid-century roots while introducing a fresh, modern palette that feels bright, relaxed, and distinctly of its place. Rather than fighting the home’s generous footprint, the design leans into it—adding architectural interest, improving flow, and creating moments of surprise throughout.
Every decision balanced aesthetics with practicality. Durable finishes, budget-aware choices, and thoughtful upgrades ensure the home performs as beautifully in real life as it does in listing photos.
The main living and dining areas were designed to feel open, airy, and deeply connected to the outdoors. Large openings and a bright palette keep the spaces cheery throughout the day, while carefully chosen furnishings define zones without interrupting flow.
Architectural moments—like a custom laser-cut wood screen—add visual interest and help anchor key focal points without adding bulk. A former den was transformed into a moody, speakeasy-style game room, offering contrast to the home’s lighter spaces and giving guests a memorable place to gather after dark.
Outdoor spaces were treated as true extensions of the home. Comfortable, upholstered seating was selected for durability and long-term wear, proving that outdoor furniture can feel inviting without being precious.
Guest-friendly features—like a propane fire table—offer ambiance without added maintenance, while a sculptural outdoor shower was introduced to break up a long stucco wall and subtly encourage good guest behavior after pool time. The result is an outdoor environment that’s both functional and elevated.
The bedrooms are fresh, bright, and intentionally unfussy—designed to feel restorative while holding up to frequent guest turnover. Soft neutrals are layered with accent colors inspired by desert sunsets, adding warmth without overwhelming the space.
